Catch'em

Catch’em is a two-player competitive action game where the cop seeks to catch the gangster BUT watch out for occasions when a “Trans-Mission” sign shows up - the roles will switch! In a team of 5, where all members come from the Entertainment Technology Center of Carnegie Mellon University, we created the game in the span of a weekend at the Global Game Jam 2018 @ Pittsburgh, PA. Our game was awarded the "Jammers' Choice" prize.

Catch’em is a very special project because I had the opportunity to create a "game for game's sake" project with some of my best friends. The inspiration of the game evolved from a joke of the prompt "Transmission." The focus of the game mechanics were making the gameplay smooth and the performance funny. In this 2-day project, the absence of a higher-level goal than building something fun became a motivation instead of restriction to wake up my true self as an entertainer.
